Dear Students,
I would like to warmly encourage you to apply for the Multicampus course “The Road to the Green Transition”, organised by the partner universities of the CIVICA Alliance in the summer semester.
This unique international course offers a rare opportunity to engage with leading academics and motivated students from across Europe while exploring one of the most pressing challenges of our time — achieving ‘net zero’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as envisaged in the Paris Agreement. Particular attention will be devoted to economic policy, the role of the private sector, and the multi-level politics shaping the green transition.
This highly interesting course consists of 24 hours of joint lectures articulated in thematic modules, given in turn by lecturers from the CIVICA alliance. All lectures will be delivered synchronously online via the CIVICA campuses and will be available as recordings for those who cannot attend live. Lectures take place on Wednesdays (10.15–12.15 CEST) and have started on 4 February. However, you are still very welcome to join the course — all sessions are recorded, allowing new participants to catch up on the material covered so far.
Students admitted to this demanding and rewarding course will collaborate in transnational teams on a Capstone Project supervised by CIVICA researchers. Each team will prepare a 45-minute podcast analysing key green transition challenges, unpacking complex policy dilemmas, and proposing viable policy solutions. Beyond academic content, this is an excellent opportunity to gain international teamwork experience and strengthen your analytical and communication skills. Successful completion of the Multicampus course is rewarded with 6 ECTS credits.
We look forward to receiving your declarations by 15:00 (3 PM) CET, 18 February this year. Candidates will be informed of the outcome of the recruitment process within two days.
Participation requires completing a formal selection procedure conducted by an SGH Selection Committee. Applicants must be graduate students of at least the first semester and demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum B2 level. The ranking is based primarily on the cumulative grade point average (minimum GPA: 3.60), English language proficiency, and documented involvement in CIVICA-related activities. Applications are submitted via the Dean’s Office of Graduate Studies website, and only complete applications can be considered.
I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to broaden your academic perspective, work in an international environment, and engage with one of the most important policy debates shaping Europe’s future.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the email address provided (piotr.maszczyk@sgh.waw.pl).
