Undergraduate (bachelor’s) studies

How can I enrol in a bachelor’s degree programme?
All you need to do is pass your secondary school final exams in the four subjects listed below:

  • Category I: mathematics or physics;
  • Category II: physics, computer science, geography, history, civics, economics;
  • Category III: foreign language – English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, or Italian;
  • Category IV: second foreign language – English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, or Italian.

Then register in the Internet Registration System. Remember that not having a result in a given subject category does not disqualify you from participating in the admission process at SGH – you simply do not receive qualification points for the specific category.

What field of study should I choose?
In Polish bachelor’s programmes, the field of study is chosen at the end of the first year (second semester). There is plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the detailed offer available programmes. Programmes in English are implemented in their entirety from the beginning of the first year, both in the case of bachelor and master’s programmes.

How many points can I get for advanced subjects in the admission process?
You may receive a maximum of 100 points for each of them. Therefore, you can get a maximum of 300 points for all three categories.
 
I am taking subjects at the basic level. Will I get points for them during the admissions process?
You can take a second foreign language at the basic or advanced level. For such a subject taken on the basic level, you may receive a maximum of 33 points. The rest of the subjects must be taken at the advanced level.

I am taking one foreign language at two levels – basic and advanced. Do they count as two separate languages in the admission process?
You have to pass two different foreign languages in the final exams, one of which can be at a basic level.

What subjects can I register as my first and second International Baccalaureate subjects?
First subject to choose from: Mathematical Studies, Mathermatics, and Further Mathematics (valid until 2020) or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (valid from 2021) or Physics. Second subject to choose from: Business Management, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, History or Physics.

Will there be an entrepreneurship knowledge test (WOP) for full-time bachelor’s degree studies for the 2026/27 academic year?

What modes if study are available at SGH?
Studia w języku polskim są dostępne w trzech trybach:

  • full-time,
  • part-time afternoon,
  • part-time weekend (Saturday-Sunday).

Studies in English are only available in full-time mode and are subject to tuition fees.

What are the minimum scores required for full-time studies?

What are the hours of part-time afternoon studies?
In general, part-time afternoon classes are conducted in afternoon/evening hours (with possible exceptions) from Monday to Friday.

What are the hours of part-time Saturday-Sunday (weekend) studies?
Classes are held every two weeks, exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, typically from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

What are the minimum scores required for part-time studies?
For part-time mode, the results from the same subjects as for full-time studies are taken into account, but the minimum grade requirements are usually lower.

What languages will I learn at SGH?
The Foreign Language Learning Center offers two foreign languages for full-time bachelor’s students: language I as the so-called first foreign language (intermediate and advanced levels) and language II, the so-called second foreign language (above-basic and intermediate levels). Language courses last 4 semesters (4x60 hours). We offer a high level of teaching of English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Polish (for foreigners only), as well as foreign language classes on economic topics, including current issues related to social, political, and economic matters.

Why can’t I enter foreign languages other than those listed in the Internet Registration System?
You can only enter foreign languages that can be taught as part of language courses at SGH. These are: English, Russian, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. 

I have paid the application fee, but the system still does not show that it has been credited. What should I do?
Banks typically need two working days to credit payments. After this time, your payment should be visible in your ISR account. If you made the transfer during the weekend, the information should appear in your enrolment account by Wednesday at the latest. If you made the transfer on a working day, the fee will be recorded in the ISR system within the next two working days.

What documents should I submit?

Dlaczego nie mogę wpisać innych języków obcych niż te, które są wymienione w systemie rekrutacyjnym? Możesz wpisać tylko te języki obce, których można uczyć się w ramach lektoratu w SGH. Są to: angielski, rosyjski, francuski, niemiecki, włoski lub hiszpański. 

Wpłaciłem opłatę rekrutacyjną, ale w systemie dalej nie mam informacji o jej zaksięgowaniu. Co powinienem zrobić? Banki standardowo potrzebują 2 dni roboczych na zaksięgowanie wpłat. Po tym czasie Twoja opłata powinna być widoczna na Twoim koncie w ISR. Jeśli wykonałeś przelew w weekend, informacja na koncie rekrutacyjnym powinna pojawić się najpóźniej w środę. Jeśli wykonałeś go w któryś z dni roboczych, w ciągu kolejnych dwóch zaksięgowanie opłaty zostanie odznaczone w systemie ISR.

Graduate (master’s) studies

How can I get into a master’s programme?
Full-time studies in Polish:

  • Admission through open recruitment. If you graduated from a university other than SGH or are SGH’s graduate from previous years, you can only participate in the admission process on the basis of the results of WOG exam – a qualifying test verifying candidates’ economic knowledge and economics-oriented foreign language proficiency.
  • Admission through grade point average-based recruitment. As part of the admission process of SGH first-cycle graduates (full-time, part-time afternoon or part-time Saturday-Sunday), the following may be admitted for the first time in this mode:
  1. SGH students who have obtained at least 180 ECTS points and at the same time achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 for all courses completed during their finished semesters of study
  2. SGH first-cycle graduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 and obtained a bachelor’s degree at SGH between October 1, 2025, and July 21, 2026.

If you meet the admission requirements based on your grade point average but believe that you have a better chance of being admitted through the open recruitment admission process, you may decide to do so until the registration deadline.

Part-time studies in Polish and full-time studies in English:
The qualification criterion for part-time studies in Polish (except for Advanced Analytics – Big Data, and Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems) and full-time studies in English is the order of application, which is understood as the date and time of joining the appropriate enrolment (selecting the level of studies) in Internet Registration System.

The admission criterion for part-time Advanced Analytics – Big Data, and Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems is the result of WOG exam – a qualifying test verifying candidates’ economic knowledge and economics-oriented foreign language proficiency.

Please bear in mind that the order of applications for part-time studies in Polish and full-time studies in English is determined on the basis of the time of joining the appropriate enrolment in the Internet Registration System and not factors such as the time of making the application fee payment, uploading your photo, or filling in the required tabs.

What modes of study are available at SGH?
Studies in Polish are available in three modes: full-time, part-time afternoon, and part-time weekend (Saturday-Sunday). Studies in English are available only in full-time mode. 

What are the minimum scores required for full-time studies?
The minimum score is around 60/100 points on the economics test. 

What are the hours of part-time afternoon mode classes?
Such classess usually take place in the afternoon (there may be exceptions) from Monday to Friday.

What are the hours of part-time weekend (Saturday-Sunday) studies?
Classes are held every two weeks, exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, typically from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Jakie tryby studiów są dostępne w SGH?  Studia w języku polskim są dostępne w trzech trybach: stacjonarne, niestacjonarne popołudniowe oraz niestacjonarne sobotnio-niedzielne. Studia w języku angielskim są dostępne wyłącznie w trybie stacjonarnym.  

Jakie są progi punktowe na studia stacjonarne?  Próg punktowy oscyluje w granicach 60/100 pkt. ze sprawdzianu z wiedzy o gospodarce. 

W jakich godzinach odbywają się studia popołudniowe (wieczorowe)? Co do zasady odbywają się w godzinach popołudniowych (mogą być wyjątki) od poniedziałku do piątku.
 
 W jakich godzinach odbywają się studia sobotnio-niedzielne (weekendowe)? Odbywają się co 2 tygodnie wyłącznie w soboty i w niedziele w godzinach 8:00-21:00.
 
Jakie są progi punktowe na studia niestacjonarne? W procesie rekrutacji liczy się kolejność zgłoszeń.

Jakie są warunki rekrutacji na studia niestacjonarne magisterskie? Kryterium kwalifikacyjnym na studia niestacjonarne w języku polskim oraz studia stacjonarne w języku angielskim jest kolejność zgłoszeń kolejność zgłoszeń, przez którą rozumie się datę i godzinę wyboru w ISR poziomu studiów. 
WAŻNE: Kolejność zgłoszeń na studia niestacjonarne w języku polskim oraz studia stacjonarne w języku angielskim ustalana jest na podstawie czasu przystąpienia do rekrutacji na studia drugiego stopnia w ISR (kliknięcie przycisku “Weź udział w rekrutacji”), a nie moment dokonania wpłaty rekrutacyjnej, wgrania zdjęcia, wypełnienia zakładek. 

Gdzie mogę znaleźć harmonogram rekrutacji?


Wpłaciłem opłatę rekrutacyjną, ale w systemie dalej nie mam informacji o jej zaksięgowaniu. Co powinienem zrobić? Banki standardowo potrzebują 2 dni roboczych na zaksięgowanie wpłat. Po tym czasie opłata powinna być widoczna na Twoim koncie w ISR. Jeśli wykonałeś przelew w weekend, informacja na koncie rekrutacyjnym powinna pojawić się najpóźniej w środę. Jakie dokumenty mam złożyć?

Student dormitories and scholarships

Is it possible to live in a student dormitory and how much does it cost?
If your permanent place of residence is more than 40 km from Warsaw, you can apply for a place in the SGH student dormitories. The price depends on the selected dormitory and the number of people sharing the room. For more information, please contact the SGH Student Housing office.

Does the university provide financial support or offer scholarships?
Information about scholarships and financial aids available to our students can be found on the appropriate Student’s Services Department website (student tab). We also accept external scholarships.

 
International applicants

I am a foreigner. Can I study for free?
You can apply for free tuition if you have one of the documents listed on the following pages:

I am an EU citizen and do not have Polish citizenship. Do I have to pay for my studies?
In such case, you can apply for free tuition (only for full-time studies in Polish).

I have a Pole’s Card (Karta Polaka). Can I study free of charge?
Yes, you can apply for free studies (only full-time studies in Polish) thanks to the Pole’s Card.

I have Polish and other citizenship. How can I get into a program taught in English?
No matter how many citizenships you have, if one of them is Polish, you must apply as a Polish citizen. During the admission process, application rules for Polish citizens will apply to you.

Transferring from another university

I am a student at another university. How can I transfer to SGH?

International exchance

When can I go on Erasmus exchange?
You may go on an exchange depending on whether you have:

  • completed your first year of bachelor’s studies at SGH,
  • completed a uniform master’s studies programme,
  • completed your first semester of master’s studies at SGH.
