SGH ranked first among economic universities and twelfth in the overall ranking of universities in Poland – “Perspektywy” 2025 ranking

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics maintained its first place among economic universities in the ranking by university type. In the ranking of Academic Universities, which covers all universities in Poland, SGH took twelfth place, as in 2024 and 2023.

Horizon X Award of Pracodawcy RP for SGH for its ability to bridge the academic and business communities

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics was recognised for its ability to bridge the academic and business communities, which is reflected in both its academic staff, innovative curricula – including the best postgraduate and MBA programmes – a training offer for business, projects delivered by the university in cooperation with the largest companies, as well as prestigious scientific projects and grants.

In the “Rzeczpospolita” university ranking, SGH ranked sixth among universities in Poland

In the ranking of universities launched in 2025 by the ‘Rzeczpospolita’ daily, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics ranked sixth among universities in Poland and is the highest-ranked economic university in the country.

SGH as the only public university from Poland in the global “Financial Times” Masters in Finance 2025 ranking

For the first time, the SGH has been included in the prestigious “Financial Times” Masters in Finance 2025 ranking, which lists the world’s leading universities offering master’s programmes in finance and accounting. The SGH is the only Polish public university to appear in this ranking, coming in at 70th place. Inclusion in the ranking represents a significant distinction and an affirmation of the high quality of education provided by the SGH.

Signing of a letter of intent with the Polish Academy of Sciences on cooperation

Rector and Professor of SGH, Dr Piotr Wachowiak, and President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Marek Konarzewski, signed a letter of intent in which they express their willingness to establish cooperation in the field of scientific research, popularisation of science, and economic education, in a spirit of responsibility and concern for the development of science and economic education of society.

SGH awarded joint AMBA & BGA accreditation – another step towards the global elite in management education

We have successfully completed the process of obtaining joint AMBA & BGA accreditation, confirming the highest quality of our MBA programmes and the unique character of the entire institution. Only nine universities in Europe hold BGA accreditation. This is another significant step in the development of SGH as a leading business school in Central and Eastern Europe and a further confirmation of its membership in the global educational elite.

Agreement on cooperation between SGH and the District Chamber of Legal Advisers

The cooperation aims to undertake and support joint initiatives and the exchange of experience and best practices. In particular, it will involve organising joint lectures, meetings, conferences and training sessions.

Triple Crown for SGH – AACSB accreditation awarded

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics has been awarded AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation – one of the most highly regarded distinctions granted to business schools worldwide. SGH has thus joined the elite group of institutions holding the so-called Triple Crown accreditation, which includes AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

Canadian Executive MBA (CEMBA) maintained first place ex aequo in the prestigious Perspektywy 2025 MBA ranking

The CEMBA programme (Canadian Executive Master of Business Administration), delivered in cooperation with the Université du Québec à Montréal, achieved first place (ex aequo)  in the prestigious Perspektywy 2025 MBA ranking, making it the top Executive MBA programme in Poland. This is a testament to the high quality of education at SGH.

The Executive SGH-WUM MBA is a unique proposition for managers in the healthcare sector, combining the expertise of SGH and the Medical University of Warsaw. The high ninth place, ex aequo, was achieved jointly with the Wrocław University of Economics.

Cooperation agreement between SGH and the National Chamber of Commerce

On 25 February 2025, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the National Chamber of Commerce concluded a cooperation agreement. Its aim is to make better and more effective use of the intellectual potential and experience of the National Chamber of Commerce and SGH.

First classes of the SGH Open University of Economics launched

The idea of the SGH Open University of Economics is to promote economic knowledge and to foster interest in economic and business issues. The OUE programme generally comprises three pathways: (1) the general education pathway, (2) the journalism pathway, and (3) the teaching pathway. Classes – delivered by distinguished specialists in their respective fields, SGH academic staff – will, in the case of the general education pathway, consist of a basic certified Economics and Finance block and three additional blocks: Management, the European Union, Sustainable Development and ESG.

On 28 January 2025, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics concluded an agreement with PolSV Center (Poland in Sillicon Valley Center for Science, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship).

AI – Google and SGH will train 10,000 companies in AI tools

Google and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics are launching a free, intensive training programme ‘Skills for Tomorrow’: AI for SMEs. Ten thousand companies will acquire practical competences in AI, enabling them to become pioneers in this field

The interiors of the SGH Hub of Innovation have been among the five projects nominated for the Property Design Awards 2025 in the Design – Interiors: Public Facilities category.

SGH Hub of Innovation officially opened

On 3 December 2024, the official opening of the new teaching and administrative building of the SGH Hub of Innovation at 8 Batorego Street in Warsaw took place. The four-storey building, with an internal area of over 9,000 sq m – constructed according to a design by Professor Bolesław Stelmach’s studio, ‘green’ and environmentally friendly – meets the highest standards for study and teamwork conditions.

SGH among the highest-rated business schools in Poland according to the Eduniversal ranking

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics, just behind the University of Warsaw Faculty of Management and Kozminski University, was among the highest-rated business schools in Poland – according to the latest Eduniversal ranking, a global agency specialising in the assessment of educational institutions. The UW Faculty of Management, KU and SGH were the only ones in Poland to receive “five palms of excellence” for 2024.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has launched the GPW FutureBridge leadership development programme, which will create new opportunities for women leaders by connecting their potential with companies listed on the exchange seeking talent for management and executive positions.

Agreement between SGH and CBOS on scientific and research cooperation

On 4 November 2024, an agreement was concluded on scientific and research cooperation between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Public Opinion Research Centre. SGH experts will have full access to CBOS research and will provide specialist commentary themselves, and joint research and podcasts are also planned.

The CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) programme has once again been recognised as one of the world’s leading Master in Management (MiM) programmes in the prestigious QS 2025 MiM ranking.

OECD and SGH concluded an agreement on institutional cooperation

On Friday, 25 October 2024, in Paris, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics on establishing cooperation. The Memorandum specifically concerns establishing a framework for cooperation on internships and placements for SGH students at the organisation.

SGH awarded EQUIS reaccreditation

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics has received a further three-year EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) reaccreditation. The EQUIS institutional accreditation is a leading international system that comprehensively assesses the quality of business schools in every aspect of their operations. It is awarded to the best business schools by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

Cooperation agreement between SGH and the Kosciuszko Foundation

On 12 September 2024, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Kosciuszko Foundation signed a cooperation agreement to promote, support mutual initiatives and undertake joint activities.

SGH expands ESG competencies – two new agreements

On 5 September 2024, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics concluded two agreements with the Polish ESG Association and the ESG.pl portal as part of the continued development of SGH’s competencies in the field of sustainable development and ESG.

On 26 June 2024, the results of this year’s Higher Education Ranking, conducted by the monthly ‘Perspektywy’, were published. The SGH Warsaw School of Economics maintained the top position among the best economic universities in Poland, taking first place in the ranking by university type.

Agreement between SGH and the Ewa Błaszczyk “Akogo?” Foundation

On 10 June, an agreement was concluded between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Ewa Błaszczyk “Akogo?” Foundation – a Public Benefit Organisation. As declared, the joint aim of the activities is to develop cooperation in projects related to fulfilling the university’s social responsibility mission.

Agreement between SGH and the Polish Bank Association

On 29 May, an agreement was concluded between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Polish Bank Association. The cooperation will cover the implementation of objectives and activities related to economic education, preparing children and young people for life in a market economy, and promoting economic knowledge among adult Poles.

Agreement between SGH and the Polish Space Agency

On 24 May, the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) signed a cooperation agreement with the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The cooperation will focus on the implementation of joint projects concerning the Polish space sector.

Agreement with the Institute of Medical Expertise

SGH, together with the Institute of Medical Expertise, has decided to establish cooperation including, among other things, the investigation of the causes of adverse medical events and the development of systemic solutions supporting health security and the functioning of the healthcare sector.

A new stage in SGH’s cooperation with the Polish Press Agency

On 26 February 2024, Rector of SGH, Dr Piotr Wachowiak, and the President of the Polish Press Agency, Marek Błoński, signed a cooperation agreement between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Polish Press Agency. The SGH Warsaw School of Economics was ranked first among 33 institutions in the CEMS (Global Alliance in Management Education) programme. On 28 September 2023, a meeting was held between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the National Association of Cooperative Banks (KZBS) concerning the cooperation agreement signed in August.

Cooperation between KUKE and SGH for Polish export

The Export Credit Insurance Corporation and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics concluded an agreement on 6 September 2023 aimed at promoting international trade, trade finance and receivables and investment insurance among students. The cooperation is expected to soon yield results in the form of research projects in these fields, and in the longer term to supply Polish business and financial institutions with well-prepared trade finance specialists.

From 1 September 2023 SGH in the EUC-VOICES project

On 1 September 2023, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, together with six partner universities representing various European University consortia, will begin implementation of the EUC-VOICES project, concerning the development of the European Universities initiative.

Significant advancement of four SGH journals in the MEiN list

Four of the 14 scientific journals published by SGH and included in the official list of the Ministry of Education and Science have recorded a spectacular increase in their score. In the latest list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed conference materials published by the Ministry on 17 July, four SGH journals doubled their previous result.

Agreement between SGH and LUXMED Group, GE HealthCare and Polpharma on the establishment of the #SGH think tank for healthcare

On 27 June 2023, an agreement was signed at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics establishing the #SGH think tank for healthcare. The creation of a new, innovative centre for research and analysis dedicated to the health sector is a joint initiative of SGH and three sponsor companies – LUXMED Group, GE HealthCare and Polpharma.

SGH included for the first time in the PIR (Positive Impact Rating) report

On 14 June, during the Principles for Responsible Management Global Forum (PRME) in New York at 16:00 CET, the results of the PIR, i.e. the Positive Impact Rating 2023, were announced, with the SGH Warsaw School of Economics included for the first time.

20 December

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics is implementing the CIVICA project for Ukraine as part of the NAWA initiative “Solidarity with Ukraine”

On 20 December 2022, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in Warsaw to sign a contract for a project to support cooperation between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Ukrainian universities within the framework of the CIVICA European University alliance. The project will run from January to December 2023 and has a budget of nearly PLN 1 million (EUR 213,000).


18 November

Agreement on cooperation between SGH and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University

On 17 November, an agreement was signed between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in Lutsk. The universities decided to enter into a direct scientific and didactic cooperation agreement, motivated by the desire to establish and expand cooperation and exchange of ideas between academics and students of both institutions.

TOP BRAND 2022 survey: SGH the third strongest brand in the “Universities” category in Poland

The SGH Warsaw School of Economics has once again been recognised as one of the strongest brands in the press, online and social media according to the TOP BRAND 2022 survey. In the industry ranking “Universities”, SGH again took third place, and in the overall ranking of the 500 strongest brands in Poland, SGH rose from 118th to 112th position.

“Project Management Direction!” winner of the IPMA Polish Project Excellence Award 2022 in the ‘New Technologies, Science and Innovation’ category

During the gala on 20 October 2022, the winners of the best managed project in Poland in 2022 were announced. The competition is organised by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and its Polish branch IPMA Polska.

Agreement between SGH and the City of Lublin

On 12 October, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the City of Lublin concluded an agreement to implement joint research and teaching projects, research, analysis, conferences and activities aimed at mutual promotion. The agreement was signed by the Mayor of Lublin, Dr Krzysztof Żuk, and Rector of SGH, Dr Piotr Wachowiak, Professor of SGH.

SGH establishes cooperation with Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University

On 28 September 2022, Rector of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Piotr Wachowiak, met with Professor Tetiana Nagorniak, First Vice-Rector of Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University (DonNU). The Rectors signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting out strategic directions for cooperation and a student exchange agreement to intensify student mobility between the universities.

On 12 September 2022, the British daily “The Financial Times” published the ranking of master’s programmes in management ‘Masters In Management’. Our master’s programme in Management was included among the world’s top one hundred – as the only Polish programme in this listing.

On 30 August, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Foundation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland concluded a cooperation agreement in the spirit of responsibility for the development of management education and strengthening cooperation between the business and academic communities.

Cooperation agreement between SGH and Network PL Association

SGH and Network PL will cooperate with the aim to integrate SGH alumni working at European institutions with their Alma Mater and to promote the knowledge on European integration at SGH to enhance the Polish staff potential in the EU institutions.

Cooperation agreement between SGH and Fundacja Młodzieżowej Przedsiębiorczości [Youth Entrepreneurship Fund]

On 12 May, SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Fundacja Młodzieżowej Przedsiębiorczości made a cooperation agreement in a sense of responsibility for economic education and preparing children and youth for life in a market economy.

An agreement between SGH and PANA for financial audit education

The popularisation of knowledge in financial and financial audit education is the main purpose of the agreement reached by the Polish Agency of Audit Oversight and SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The agreement was signed on 9 May by Marcin Obroniecki, the President of PANA, and Professor Piotr Wachowiak, SGH Rector. The agreement stipulates for cooperation between the institutions within the competences of each institution.

An agreement between SGH and the Polish Olympic Committee

On 29 April, SGH Warsaw School of Economics made an agreement with the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl) with respect to stricter cooperation between the academic and Olympic milieu as regards management. The agreement was signed at the Olympic Centre in Warsaw by SGH Rector, dr hab. Piotr Wachowiak, prof. SGH, and Andrzej Kraśnicki, the President of PKOl.

SGH and Google as partners in Poland’s largest internship and training programme

On Wednesday, 13 April, an internship and training programme, “Skills of Tomorrow” and “Career of Tomorrow” was launched. The programme is EU-funded and coordinated by the government. SGH Warsaw School of Economics is the main educational partner. Together with Google, the School will hold a series of seminars and workshops to deepen young people’s knowledge of digital management in small and medium-sized enterprises.

LUX MED Group, SGH and GAP Foundation launch a Healthy Cities project

At the initiative of the LUX MED Group, a Healthy Cities Index will be developed to assess the living conditions in cities with respect to (among other things) health, including mental health, green space, education, air quality and culture. The project partners, experts of SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Fundacja Gospodarki i Administracji Publicznej [Economy and Public Administration Foundation], will show what and how affects life quality and health of the inhabitants of 66 cities in Poland.

SGH as a new member of the alliance of CIVICA University

On 23 March, a consortium of the European University of Social Sciences bringing together prestigious European universities of social sciences presented its 2030 vision which included the creation of a university of the future. Two new universities were admitted to the alliance: SGH Warsaw School of Economics from Poland and IE University from Spain. In this way, the member count rose up to ten institutions.

Inclusive SGH - no barriers to education (inSGH)

SGH Warsaw School of Economics embarks on a prestigious project entitled “Inclusive SGH - No Barriers to Education” (inSGH). The goal of the project is to increase accessibility for people with disabilities by implementing activities aimed at adapting the organizational structure, educational processes, architecture, and digital and information accessibility, as well as shaping and promoting a culture of openness to people with special needs.

Cooperation of Unia Metropolii Polskich (Union of Polish Metropolis) and SGH Warsaw School of Economics

Solving problems which involve the functioning of local government through the cooperation of local government and scientific communities are the cornerstones of the cooperation agreement between Unia Metropolii Polskich im. Pawła Adamowicza [Paweł Adamowicz Union of Polish Metropolis] and SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The agreement was signed by dr hab. Tadeusz Truskolaski, the Union’s President, and prof. dr hab. Piotr Wachowiak, SGH Rector, on 30 November 2021.

The Polish Accreditation Committee awarded SGH Warsaw School of Economics with Excellence in Teaching Certificate in the category of Open to the World - excellence in international cooperation.

An agreement between SGH and the Association of Financial Companies in Poland on cooperation for the development of financial markets

In combining their potential and resources, both the institutions are looking forward to a synergy effect to allow, among other things, supporting the development of entrepreneurship and economic education on the financial market in Poland.

SGH and 8th Technical College in Warsaw together for the economic education of young people

On 20 April 2021, the 8th Technical High School in Warsaw and SGH Warsaw School of Economics signed a letter of intent to cooperate for the development and education of young people, the promotion of economic knowledge and the preparation of personnel for the needs of Polish science, economy and society.

A report by SGH researchers honoured by Erasmus+

In recent days, the National Agency of Erasmus+ has accepted the final report of DASCHE project: “Development, Assessment and Validation of Social Competences in Higher Education”. The project results were rated so high that the Agency awarded a “good practice” status to the report and the accompanying materials. It means that they can be an example to follow and a source of inspiration for other Erasmus programmes and that they are published on the Programme’s information platform.

LUX MED Group in SGH Corporate Partners Club

On 8 October, SGH Corporate Partners Club was joined by LUX Med group, Poland’s largest healthcare company. On that day, a commemorative plaque in the school’s main building was unveiled jointly by the Group’s president, Anna Rulkiewicz, and SGH Rector, prof. Piotr Wachowiak.
