University board

The University Board is one of the collective bodies that represent employers, business environment, local community and the University community

COMPOSITION OF THE UNIVERSITY BOARD:

The University Board operates in the panel appointed in compliance with par. 54 subpar. 1 of the Statute of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. It is composed of persons appointed at the meeting of the Senate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in November and December 2020:

  1. Members representing the University community:

    • Professor Anna Karmańska, PhD appointed by Resolution no. 53 of the Senate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics of 16 December 2020
    • Stanisław Kluza, PhD appointed by Resolution no. 55 of the Senate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics of 16 December 2020
    • Marta Ekner – representative of the Student Government of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics for 2022/2023 tenure

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY BOARD:

The Senate entrusted the function of the President of the University Board to Jacek Bartkiewicz, PhD – by Resolution no. 56 of the Senate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics of 16 December 2020

TASKS OF THE UNIVERSITY BOARD

(extract from the Statute of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics constituting an annex to Resolution no. 499 of the Senate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics of 29 May 2019, par. 55):

1.Tasks of the University Board include:

  • giving opinions on the University’s draft strategy;
  • giving opinions on the draft statute;
  • monitoring financial economy of the University;
  • monitoring management of the University;
  • indicating Rector candidates upon receiving the Senate’s opinion;
  • giving opinions on the statement on the implementation of the University’s strategy;
  • giving opinions on the curricula of practical profile upon the Rector’s request;
  • giving consent to the Rector’s performance of additional gainful employment;
  • making decisions on granting the Rector with a performance allowance in compliance with the principles referred to in Article 138 par. 3 of the Act;
  • performing other tasks stipulated in the act and the statute.

2. Within monitoring the financial economy, the University Board:

  • gives opinion on the substantive and financial plan;
  • approves the statement on the performance of the substantive and financial plan;
  • approves the financial statement;
  • chooses an audit firm to verify the University’s financial statement;
  • gives consent to the performance of a legal activity in the scope of managing fixed assets of the University, in compliance with the accountancy provisions, and performance of a legal activity in the scope of transferring these assets for use to other entity for a period not longer than 180 days in a calendar year, in cases the market value of these assets or the market value of the object of the legal activity exceeds the amount of PLN 2,000,000.

3. Within the performance of tasks the University Board may demand access to the University’s documents.
4. The University Board submits to the Senate, at its first meeting in a new academic year, an annual statement on activity.
5. The President of the University Board performs activities in the scope of the labour law with regard to the Rector, with a reservation of the provisions of the act.
