Technische Universität Berlin

The Technische Universität Berlin (known as TU Berlin for short and unofficially as the Technical University of Berlin or Berlin Institute of Technology) is a research university located in Berlin, Germany and one of the largest and most prestigious research and education institutions in Germany. The university was founded in 1879. It has the highest proportion of foreign students out of universities in Germany. The university alumni and professor list include National Academies elections, two National Medal of Science laureates and ten Nobel Prize winners. The TU Berlin is a member of TU9, an incorporated society of the largest and most notable German institutes of technology and of the Top Industrial Managers for Europe network, which allows for student exchanges between leading European engineering schools. It also belongs to the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research.

In addition, TUB is particularly specialized scientific institution in the field of innovation management. TUB is co-founder and main pillar of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a new initiative of the European Union aimed at creating a European scientific organization resembling American MIT. DD students will have the opportunity to apply to the 5 -week summer school on the entrepreneurial climate in three European locations (e.g. Berlin, Paris, London). The summer school is organized and financed entirely by the EIT. For some students, there is also the possibility of obtaining a certificate of the EIT.

Offered by TUB program “Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability” (IMES) ranks among the best masters programs in management in German-speaking countries, according to the prestigious CHE ranking . Every year hundreds of candidates apply to about 35 seats in the program.

Berlin is not only the political capital of our western neighbour, but is also considered the cultural and academic centre of Germany. Due to the amount of newly created start- ups and dynamic development of the Internet industry, in some publications Berlin is referred to as a European Silicon Valley. Despite the booming economy in August , the cost of living in Berlin is still relatively low (500 - 700 EUR) and comparable to the cost of living in Warsaw.

At TUB the MDDP is hosted by the TUB’s Centre for Entrepreneurship.
