Sustainable Development of the Mazowieckie Province in the New Layout of NUTS2 and NUTS3 Units. Metropolitan, Regional and Sub-Regional Level (Acronym: MAZOVIA_20)

The practical purpose of the project entitled “Sustainable Development of the Mazowieckie Province in the New Layout of NUTS2 and NUTS3 Units. Metropolitan, Regional and Sub-Regional Level” is to propose new and to adjust the existing instruments and directions of development policy carried out in the area of the Mazowieckie Province, accounting for: (1) challenges related to the polarisation and diffusion nature of the economic development of Mazowsze (2) the necessity of increasing the durability of development policy in the context of changes in the classification of territorial units for statistical purposes (NUTS) in the Mazowieckie Province (selection of two NUTS2 units: the region of Mazowsze and the capital of Warsaw) and (3) perspective of the new stage of programming the regional development policy related to the new EU financial perspective, as well as depletion of the development aid financed from the European Union funds and the necessity of reinforcing autonomous instruments of development policy.
