European Master in Law and Economics

The programme is currently being delivered as part of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees. Graduates are prepared to take up doctoral studies in law and economics.

Partner universities

The EMLE programme is conducted in cooperation with international universities which are members of the EMLE Consortium. The partner universities are: Université Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille III (France), Universita degli Studi di Bologna – School of Economics (Italy), Ghent University (Belgium), University of Haifa (Israel), Universität Hamburg (Germany), University of Mumbai (India), Erasmus University Rotterdam – Erasmus School of Law (Netherlands), and Universität Wien (Austria). Participating students spend three consecutive trimesters in the countries of their choice.

EMLE at SGH Warsaw School of Economics

At the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) programme is conducted under the patronage and substantive supervision of Professor Leszek Balcerowicz. Jarosław Bełdowski, PhD, is the academic coordinator of the programme. Students take courses in economic analysis of law, taught in English, and then present dissertations (at Master’s level) on topics of their choice within this field.

We are planning to expand SGH’s choice for EMLE students by adding an internship scheme related to the content of the programme. We would like to offer internships in both law and economics. The minimum duration would be 1 to 2 months, and in view of the timing of the trimester in Poland, the internships would be organised in the summer months.

Applications

We invite all interested candidates to apply for the study programme via the Consortium website.
