Business survey in trade has been continuously conducted since October 1993. Every quarter the subject of the survey covers: changes in the general situation of enterprises, financial situation of enterprises, stocks, purchases from national suppliers, purchases from foreign suppliers, employment prices, competition between enterprises, quantity (volume) of sold commodities, storage, assessment of general situation of enterprises and factors limiting improvement of the situation of enterprises. Synthetic assessment of business situation in trade comprises a business situation indicator calculated as an arithmetic mean of balances of responses to questions about the forecasted volume of sales, forecasted volume of purchases of goods from national and international suppliers and the status of stocks.
