Business survey in construction has been conducted regularly since the 4th quarter of 1993. Initially, it covered solely private sector enterprises. As of the 2nd quarter of 1994 the survey has also covered the public sector. Respondents answer questions about: size of production, level of employment, prices of provided services, total number of orders, export orders, financial standing, the use of production capacity, investments, barriers in economic activity, general economic situation, general situation of construction against economy. A synthetic assessment of the economic situation in construction is the economic situation indicator calculated as an arithmetic mean of balances of responses to questions about changes in the portfolio of orders and forecasted changes in the level of employment.
