Business survey in agriculture was started in 1992. Initially the survey was conducted bi-monthly and as of 1998 it has been conducted quarterly. The subjects of the survey include: monetary income of farms, savings, debt, purchases of organic-mineral fertilizers, purchases of concentrate feeds, purchases of plant protection products, investment in machines and devices, investment in buildings and constructions, availability of preferential loans, intention of taking a loan, the fact of taking a preferential and market loan and mood (perspectives of the farm).
Once a year farmers are also asked about: the significance of direct subsidies, allocation of aid funds and consequences of weather anomalies. A synthetic measure of economic situation in agriculture is the economic situation indicator calculated on the basis of two partial indicators: equalised monetary income indicator and trust indicator.
