Additional benefits for doctoral students

In addition to doctoral scholarships, doctoral candidates can also apply for additional financial support in the form of the Minister's scholarship for young scientists and a student loan.

Minister’s scholarship for young scientists

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of April 1, 2019, regarding scholarships from the minister responsible for higher education and science for students and outstanding young scientists, a doctoral student may receive a minister’s scholarship. The minister’s scholarship for outstanding young scientists can be awarded to a doctoral student demonstrating significant achievements in scientific activities.

To apply for the scholarship, the doctoral student fills out the application in the Integrated System of Services for Science - Financial Streams Service. The doctoral student contacts the Doctoral School Office, and the office authorizes access to the system. The completed application is reviewed by the Dean of the Doctoral School, and if the opinion is positive, it is sent to the Rector of SGH.

Student loan

According to Article 210 of the Act of July 20, 2018, the Law on Higher Education and Science, a doctoral student can apply for a student loan. The provisions on student loans apply accordingly, with the following conditions:

  • The loan can be obtained by a doctoral student who has not reached the age of 35.
  • The loan is granted for the period of education in the doctoral school only once, for a maximum of 4 years.
