Investments as a way of challenging selected exclusion types in regions/countries of Central and Eastern Europe

There are a number of challenges ahead of the countries in the era of sustainable development. They are conditioned by external factors resulting from international commitments, as well as internal commitments originating from domestic economic and social conditions. The combination of these aspects constitutes challenges for sustainable development for many economies.

The goal of this study is to analyse selected development challenges in Central and Eastern Europe. The study covers, in a detailed manner, exclusion in the areas of energy, gentrification and access to financial services. The research group includes the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary.

The time range of the analysis covers the years 2009-2017 and results from the availability of statistical data. The sources used in the report include subject literature and international databases (e.g. Eurostat, World Bank).
