The purpose of the project is to prepare an interactive Greencoin system promoting pro-environmental and pro-ecological stances and behaviour of city residents. The solution that is going to be implemented is going to be a form of the local “community currency” rewarding residents (system users) for pro-environmental stances; the community currency will also be exchanged for other “green” goods and services.
Special emphasis is put on the impact of economic, cultural and social determinants in the region of Central and Eastern Europe on pro-environmental stances and choices of city residents. The project is implemented in an international consortium comprising research units in Poland and Norway: Gdańsk University of Technology, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the Maria Grzegorzewska University, Inicjatywa Miasto Association, Oslo Metropolitan University, University of Stavanger.
