On 11 March 2025, the Council of the European Union formally adopted the “VAT in the Digital Age” (ViDA) reform, which entered into force on 14 April 2025. The ViDA reform introduces real-time digital reporting and mandatory e-invoicing for intra-EU B2B transactions. It also modernises VAT rules for the platform economy and simplifies VAT registration through a single EU system. The reform will be implemented gradually, with mandatory e-invoicing starting in 2030 and full harmonisation required by 2035.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Fernando Matesanz, President of the International VAT Association and advisor to the European Commission on future changes to EU VAT regulations. The list of invited guests also includes Dr. Stefania Lotito Fedele who is responsible for the ViDA dossier at IBFD (Amsterdam).
