The survey is accompanied by a competition entitled “A slogan for a good start”, which aims to select a slogan related to the beginning of academic life - expectations regarding studies or the university, the process of studying, motivation to study, students’ dreams and goals, and expectations for the future after graduation.

Competition Rules: “A Slogan for a Good Start”
Article 1. General Provisions
- The organiser of the competition is the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. The Career and Alumni Centre is responsible for the implementation of the competition.
- The competition is held as part of activities promoting participation in the survey of first-year students’ expectations.
- The aim of the competition is to select a slogan referring to the beginning of academic life – expectations regarding studies or the university, the study process, motivation for studying, students’ dreams and goals, and expectations for the future after graduation.
Article 2.Terms of Participation
- Any first-year student of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in the 2025/2026 academic year [undergraduate / postgraduate] who completes the “Welcome Survey” sent to their student e-mail address may participate in the competition.
- Participation in the competition is voluntary and free of charge.
- Each participant may submit one competition slogan.
- The slogan should be:
- original,
- not infringing the rights of third parties,
- no longer than 100 characters (including spaces),
- consistent with the idea of the competition.
Article 3. Submission Rules
- The slogan must be submitted via the Microsoft Forms form available on the website by 4 November 2025.
Submission form - The submission must include the participant’s first name, surname, student e-mail address in the SGH domain, the proposed slogan, and confirmation that the person is the author of the proposed slogan.
- Participation in the competition signifies acceptance of these rules and an obligation to comply with them.
Article 4. Evaluation and Selection of Winners
- The winning slogans will be selected by a jury composed of: the Vice-Rector for Development, a representative of the SGH Student Union Presidium, and the Director of the Marketing and Brand Development Office.
- From all submitted slogans, the Jury will select:
- from 1 to 3 main slogans,
- up to 10 honourable mentions.
- Evaluation criteria:
- originality,
- relevance to the theme,
- linguistic creativity,
- communication potential (e.g. possibility of use in promotion).
- The decision of the Jury is final and not subject to appeal.
- The results and the names of the winners, along with their level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate), will be announced by 17 November on the website kariera.sgh.waw.pl and on other university websites, including sgh.waw.pl. Additionally, information about the results will be sent by e-mail to the winners.
- The organiser reserves the right not to select main slogans and/or honourable mentions.
Article 5. Prizes
- Main prize: a voucher worth PLN 200 for the purchase of university merchandise or university merchandise up to the value of PLN 200.
- Prizes for honourable mentions: vouchers worth PLN 100 each for the purchase of university merchandise or sets of university merchandise up to the value of PLN 100.
- Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash equivalents or transferred to third parties.
- The organiser reserves the right to publish the winning slogans in materials promoting SGH, including the survey.
- Upon receipt of the prize, the participant grants SGH a free, unlimited in time and territory, non-exclusive licence to use the slogan in all fields of exploitation existing at the time the licence is granted, in particular:
- in the field of recording and reproducing the work – producing copies of the work by any technique, including printing, reprographic, magnetic recording, and digital techniques;
- in the field of distributing the original or copies on which the work has been recorded – placing on the market, lending, or renting the original or copies;
- in the field of disseminating the work in a manner other than specified in point 2 – public performance, exhibition, display, playback, broadcasting, and rebroadcasting, as well as making the work publicly available in such a way that anyone can access it at a place and time of their choosing.
- The participant undertakes not to exercise moral rights, in particular acknowledging that the slogan will be disseminated anonymously.
Article 6. Personal Data
The controller of the participants’ personal data is the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
Information on the processing of personal data referred to in Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (OJ EU L 119, 4 May 2016, p. 1, as amended), is provided to participants by SGH through its placement below the application form, in the wording specified in Appendix No. 1 to these Rules.
Article 7. Final Provisions
- In matters not regulated by these rules, the provisions of Polish law shall apply.
