Professor Andrzej Herman, PhD

Dean
Dean of the Collegium of Business Administration in 1993–1999 and 2003–2012; founder and long-time head of the Department of Small Business, transformed into the Institute of Value Management, where he held the position of director. A graduate of the Faculty of Production Economics at SGPiS, he earned both his doctoral and post-doctoral degrees there. His doctoral dissertation focused on student cooperative work as a means of generating income in Poland, while his post-doctoral thesis addressed issues surrounding socio-economic development within a socialist framework. In the early 1990s, he became actively involved in the process of reforming the SGH.

Serving as Deputy Plenipotentiary of the Rector of SGH for the Collegium of Business Administration, he co-created the programme concept and structure of the Collegium.

Scientific interests

In his research, he was particularly focused on the issue of corporate value management. He established theoretical foundations, charting a new direction in the theory and practice of management for Polish businesses, as well as in the field of business science. A number of valuable research projects on structural changes in the contemporary global economy and their impact on the radical transformation of many traditionally global businesses have been developed under his academic guidance. He has made a significant contribution to the development of business administration in Poland and, above all, has presented new concepts in the field of corporate value management in the face of global challenges in the economic and geopolitical sphere. Additionally, he has significantly advanced Polish business administration research, particularly through new concepts of corporate value management.
