Seminar in collaboration with the University of Mauritius

We are pleased to invite you to a scientific seminar, which will take place on April 20 at 5:10 pm in room 114G at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. During the seminar, Professors Boopen Seetanah and Viraiyan Teeroovengadum from the University of Mauritius will present the research methods and tools they use in their scientific work. The meeting will also be an opportunity to make contact with the partner university. The event will be conducted in English.

“Intro to Time series and panel data analysis”

Boopen Seetanah, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Management at the University of Mauritius (UoM) with research interest in tourism and transport, international trade and finance and development economics. He is currently the Co-Chair of the WTO Chair (UoM) and the Director of Research at the International Centre for Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality (ICSTH) at the UoM. Boopen is also overseeing the Doctoral School at the UoM as director. He has been/is a consultant for numerous local and international organizations including the UNCTAD, UNEP, World Bank, UNECA, UNDP, ADB.

“Application of PLS-SEM in Business Research”

Viraiyan Teeroovengadum, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University of Mauritius. He holds a PhD in Service Management, a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management and is a graduate in Law and Management. His primary research interests are in the fields of higher education, quality assurance and service management. Within the higher education field, Dr Viraiyan focuses on the following research topics: quality in higher education, university ranking, use of PLS-SEM in higher education, assessment and evaluation, neuroscience, employability, well-being, doctoral supervision, corporate governance, ethical behaviours, and university performance measurement. Regarding  methodological approaches, while being well versed with both quantitative and qualitative methods, he has a keen interest in the application of statistical modeling and psychometrics in business research.
