Canadian and Polish experiences with migration and displacement: Migrants in a city. How to integrate in a new home-city

The General Sociology Unit, the Department of Political Studies at the Institute of International Studies and Regional and Local Policy Unit at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa (Canada), together with their co-organisers, invite you to an international seminar entitled „Canadian and Polish experiences with migration and displacement: Migrants in a city. How to integrate in a new home-city”, which will take place on Monday, 26 May 2025, in a room 152 in the main building of SGH.

The event aims to analyse strategies supporting inclusive urban development, based on Canada and Poland’s experiences in migration and integration in an urban environment. Researchers and practitioners from Canada and Poland will share their experience during the seminar. The event is organised as part of the Jean Monnet Module project ‘Future of European Cities: Towards Inclusive, Sustainable and Smart Urban Development (EUCities)’ and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grant/Destination Horizon Grant: ‘Leveraging Canadian expertise for the management of migration’/‘Preserving and enhancing migrant and refugee integration in a time of significant change’.
