The following faculty members are also involved in the project work: Anna Stankowska, PhD, associate professor at SGH (Institute of Enterprise); Marzena Fryczyńska, PhD, associate professor at SGH (Institute of Enterprise); Marcin Wojtysiak-Kotlarski,PhD, associate professor at SGH (KZiF); Maria Pietrzak, PhD (KZiF); Iryna Degtyarova, PhD (Rector’s Plenipotentiary for contacts with Ukrainian universities); Jacek Lewicki, PhD (ORSE Director); and Wojciech Stęchły, PhD (ORSE).

Developing leaders of the future

The SGH.FutureLeaders.Bridge project is intended to provide support for countries in transition. Following the success of the CIVICA4Ukraine summer school, an Intensive International Training Programme (IMPK) in English is to be developed. The project encompasses two editions of the course and the piloting of a digital credentials system.

The Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences (2024), which was awarded in recognition of research into the impact of institutions on well-being, highlights the significance of such initiatives. By shaping leaders for countries in transition, we help to lay the groundwork for solid institutions in these countries.

The project targets two main groups of beneficiaries:

  • Students of economic universities and business schools from countries with significant development potential.
  • SGH lecturers who will participate in the training, prepare the course programme, conduct the classes and act as independent assessors validating learning outcomes.

Competence enhancement

The project’s main focus is to support the leadership skills of future leaders. In addition, SGH faculty will participate in training sessions covering areas such as:

  • Cultural differences and teaching multicultural teamwork.
  • Creating business simulation games.
  • Assessing, testing and recognising transferable and social competencies (with a focus on leadership competencies), including micro-credentials.
  • Curriculum design, including methods for validating leadership competencies.
