About the Department of European Integration and Legal Studies

​​The Department of European Integration and Legal Studies was established on 1 January 2020 following the merger of the Jean Monnet Chair of European Integration and the Chair of International Law and International Organizations.

The main aim of the Department is:

  • to conduct research in the field of economic and legal aspects of international integration - the research is focused on the European integration, including Poland’s membership in the European Union as well as EU’s relations with third countries;
  • conducting legal and international research on “law in action” - the research is focused on European law and international economic law;
  • to provide a wide teaching offer at bachelor, master, doctoral and postgraduate studies, including both the general and specialist knowledge about the principles of the functioning of the European Union and the development of integration processes in Europe and other regions, about the economic and legal conditions under which enterprises operate in the Single European Market, EU’s economic policies, and about Poland’s membership in the European Union, as well as international institutional cooperation.
