2nd CONFERENCE: FINANCIAL LIQUIDITY. BUSINESS – FINANCIAL MARKETS – THE ECONOMY
Conference dates: November 17–18, 2026, Auditorium I, Building C
Conference format: hybrid
“FINANCIAL LIQUIDITY. BUSINESS – FINANCIAL MARKETS – THE ECONOMY”
Financial liquidity can be viewed from various perspectives. With regard to individual entities, it is usually defined as the ability to settle current obligations on time and make necessary purchases. This definition refers to payment capacity. Payment capacity depends on structural liquidity—that is, the liquidity of assets—as well as on potential liquidity, which is the ability to quickly obtain external sources of financing. Financial liquidity is an essential prerequisite for financial security—that is, financial stability—not only for individual entities, including businesses and individuals, but also for individual countries, financial markets, and financial institutions operating in those markets, as well as for the economy as a whole.
The aim of the conference is to foster an academic discussion on financial liquidity from both a microeconomic perspective—examining individual entities—and a macroeconomic perspective—examining the economies of Poland, Europe, and the world. We hope that this conference will provide an opportunity to exchange views, present the results of scientific research, and serve as an inspiration for further work by the entire academic community interested in the complex issue of financial liquidity. We invite you to actively participate in our conference.
We are planning the following thematic blocks, around which the discussion panels during the conference will be centred:
- The nature, determinants and measurement of financial liquidity – from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
- The complex process of managing financial liquidity for individuals, businesses, financial institutions, states, budgetary entities and other organisations, including its components and specific characteristics.
- Liquidity of financial markets and financial institutions; supervision of financial markets; financial market regulations; the consequences of liquidity shortages and excess liquidity in financial markets.
- Potential liquidity; sources of funding; capital structure; debt; the debtor’s situation; risky financial behaviour; liability management.
- Corporate treasury, corporate risk management, business continuity risk and catastrophic risk, regulatory risk, tax risk, credit risk.
- Structural liquidity, i.e. asset liquidity, receivables management, debt collection, factoring, asset securitisation, procurement and inventory management.
- National financial security, monetary policy, inflation, anti-crisis measures, public debt, budget deficit.
- The economic situation globally, in the European Union, in Poland, and across specific sectors; economic crisis, financial crisis, payment bottlenecks, bankruptcies, restructuring.
- Modern technologies, artificial intelligence and financial liquidity
Please submit proposals for papers, in the form of abstracts, relating to the thematic blocks outlined above. We also encourage you to address important topics related to financial liquidity that we have not included in the blocks listed.
