Dr Łukasz Gębski is an economist, academic lecturer and management practitioner, serving as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Banking at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He also collaborates with the Jagiellonian University, Paris School of Business and Excelia School of Management (France). His research and teaching focus on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, financial markets, consumer protection and responsible financial decision-making. He teaches at graduate and executive level, combining academic frameworks with the analysis of real-life business and transaction decisions.
He has extensive practical experience in investment banking and M&A transactions. He developed his transaction expertise at Lazard Brothers and subsequently at Citigroup, where he held responsibilities related to mergers and acquisitions in Central and Eastern Europe. His experience includes strategic analysis, business valuation, transaction structuring and execution, preparing companies for sale, and assessing the economic and organisational consequences of acquisitions. This background enables him to teach M&A not only from the perspective of financial models, but also as a practical instrument of corporate growth and expansion strategy.
Dr Gębski has also held senior management positions in the financial and business services sectors, including roles within BNP Paribas, Teleperformance and Armatis. This allows him to combine the perspectives of a transaction adviser, investor and executive responsible for organisational development, operational integration and risk management. He teaches in Polish and English and has experience working with international student groups.
