RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN CREDENTIALS - nostrification

Polish regulations require every foreign diploma to be officially recognized in Poland by the process of the nostrification unless the bilateral agreements state differently.
 
To undertake Master's studies in International Business if you are a holder of a foreign diploma you should apply to the Rector of Warsaw School of Economics to exempt your diploma from the nostrification. The process of exemption from the nostrification takes 2-3 months.
 
You have to fill in and sign the application form.  You will also need following attachements, i.e.:

1. original of the diploma obtained abroad and its translation into Polish,

2. a copy of school leaving certificate (baccalaureate) or a copy of other diploma upon which you were admitted for studies the graduation diploma of constitutes the basis for this application and its translation into Polish,

3. cv in Polish,

4. statement that the diploma has not been a subject to the nostrification procedure in any of the Polish academia,

5. legal confirmation of the diploma mentioned in s. 1 by a consul of the Republic of Poland in the country the diploma was obtained or a diplomatic representation or consulate of the country in whose educational system the institution issuing diploma operates, or an apostille on the original of the diploma or attached thereto,

6. documents confirming the course of studies: transcript of grades or diploma supplement indicating the courses you have taken and their translation into Polish.


7. Translation into Polish of the documents mentioned in s. 1, 2 and 6 has to be made or certified by an adequate consul of the Republic of Poland or a certified translator from the list maintained by the Minister of Justice.


Application form together with all the necessary attachements, mentioned above, should be submitted to Ms. Grażyna Radom (room 56 in building G).  If you have any questions concerning the exemption from nostrification process, please contact Office of Master's Studies in English (room 5 building A).



The REGULATION NO 74 of 19 December 2007 describes in detail actions taken by SGH’s bodies and units when processing matters related to recognition of certificates obtained abroad.
