Stages of doctoral dissertation
The theses of dissertations are presented and discussed during doctoral seminars or Chairs’ meetings.
An advanced work done on the doctoral dissertation (confirmed by the promoter’s opinion) and articles published in renowned periodicals.
- an application addressed to the Dean of the Collegium, Prof. Janusz Ostaszewski, to open a doctoral dissertation (the application should comprise the title of the dissertation and information on who the promoter will be),
- the promoter’s opinion concerning the PhD student and his doctoral dissertation,
- a certified copy of the MA’s diploma,
- a detailed resume (or CV),
- a draft of the doctoral dissertation (a formulated thesis of the dissertation, the contents of each chapter presented on some 10 pages),
- a list of publications,
- an extract from the protocol of the Chair’s meeting confirming the members’ acceptance of the dissertation.
At the Scientific Council’s meeting (in a secret ballot) promoters are appointed and PhD examinations are set in the following areas:
• the basic discipline,
• additional discipline,
• a foreign language from the group of modern languages.
After a satisfactory PhD examination, the Scientific Council approves the Commission’s for public PhD examination notion concerning granting the PhD student the doctoral degree of a PhD in Economic Sciences (in economy or management sciences).
