Department of Project Management

Warsaw School of Economics (Poland)
Department of Project Management is the only department in Poland to be engaged in Project Management. It is part of the Management and Finance Faculty at the Warsaw School of Economics.
Department’s activity
The activities of the Department include in particular:
  • change management,
  • strategy implementation,
  • program and project portfolio management,
  • project management,
  • business process and project organization,
  • business process and project maturity,
  • business process reengineering,
  • project and task teams management,
  • project knowledge management,
  • EU projects management,
  • operations management,
  • business process management,
  • outsourcing.
Department’s staff
The head of the Department is Professor Michał Trocki.
The staff consists of: Emil Bukłaha, PhD; Bartosz Grucza, PhD; Paweł Wyrozębski, MSc; Mateusz Juchniewicz, MSc. Administrative matters are taken care of by Mrs. Elżbieta Nowakowska. With the Department cooperates Mateusz Ossowski, an associated student.
Department’s research
The Department conducts variety of researches in the project management and related fields – in accordance with its specialization. Scientific specialization of the Department’s faculty is as follows:
Professor Michał Trocki: project management theory, project organization, project management methodology, business process management, operations management.
Emil Bukłaha, PhD: project management, operations management, business process management, strategic management, outsourcing.
Bartosz Grucza, PhD: project management theory, managing EU projects, project management methodologies: PCM, PRINCE2, PMBoK, CMMI.
Paweł Wyrozębski, MSc: project management theory, project management methodologies PCM, PRINCE2, PMBoK, project manager competency frameworks, project organization, project management office, project knowledge management .
Mateusz Juchniewicz, MSc: project management theory, project and process maturity, project quality management, project evaluation techniques.
Mateusz Ossowski: project management theory, PCM, project management tools and techniques
 
The Department conducts Project Management Seminar.
Under the Department’s supervision operates the Students’ Association for Project Management.
Department’s teaching activities
The Department’s staff conduct lectures and classes on project management for all types of studies at Warsaw School of Economics. On second degree (Master) studies the Department is a Project Management specialty supervisor. The Department conducts also Project Management Postgraduate Studies (see here) as well as special courses on project management on other postgraduate studies at Warsaw School of Economics.
