Chair of Philosophy

 

The Chair of Philosophy was founded in 1960. as a part of Collegium of Socio-Economics. It was headed by Leszek Gilejko, Roman Rudziński, Tadeusz Płużański and Stanisław Piwko. In difficult times of ideological pressure it remained intellectually independent both in its research and didactics. Now the research interests of the staff comprise cultural anthropology, history of philosophy from Middle Ages through Renaissance and Reformation to Modern German and Analytical Philosophy, history of Philosophy in Latin America, ethics, pursuit of happiness, business ethics, philosophy of language, logic, methodology of science. The chair is responsible for teaching philosophical subjects and logic to students of all kinds and levels of studies at Warsaw School of Economics.
