Welcome to the website of the Department of Economic Sociology (DES), a leading research centre in the fields of economic sociology, industrial relations and social dialogue in Poland.
Our Department was established in 2002, having evolved from the Economic Sociology Unit. Main fields of research include: evolution of social structure in Poland in the context of social transformations in Europe and the entire world, analysis of social classes and other forms of social divisions, analysis of social institutions, privatisation and its social implications, evolution of trade unions and developments in social dialogue.
