Dr Marcin Sakowicz

Absolwent SGH w ramach Polsko-Francuskiego Programu Studiów Europejskich SGH-Sciences Po (1999 r.) oraz Polsko-Holenderskich Studiów Europejskich (2001 r.). W latach 2000-2001 pracownik Rządowego Centrum Studiów Strategicznych. W latach 2001-2005 na stanowisku asystenta w Katedrze Administracji Publicznej. W październiku 2005 roku uzyskał tytuł doktora nauk ekonomicznych na SGH i kontynuuje pracę naukową na stanowisku adiunkta Katedry.

Dr Marcin Sakowicz był stypendystą International Policy Fellowships Open Society Institute w Budapeszcie (2001-2002), Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Bratysławie oraz Uniwersytetu w Oslo (2009). Od 2008 r. jest także wykładowcą w Krajowej Szkole Administracji Publicznej.

Zainteresowania naukowe i badawcze: Efektywność i sprawność instytucji państwa, modernizacja samorządu lokalnego, regionalizm, wpływ technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych (ICT) na funkcjonowanie administracji publicznej, e-government.

Marcin Sakowicz, Ph.D.

Dr Marcin Sakowicz has graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics in 1999 within the confines of the Polish-French European Studies Programme (SGH-Sciences Po). Additionally, in 2001 he has finished the Polish-Dutch European Studies. In the years 2000-2001 he worked in the Government Center for Strategic Studies. In 2001 he returned to Warsaw School of Economics where he became a teaching assistant in the Department of Public Administration. In October 2005 he obtained a Ph.D. in economics defending a dissertation entitled “Local government modernization in the Polish – European Union integration process”. Currently he continues his research as an assistant professor at the Department of Public Administration.

Dr Sakowicz is an awarded of scholarships granted by the International Policy Fellowships Open Society Institute (2001-2002) and of the University of Economics in Bratyslava (2003). In 2009 he was a visiting fellow at the Oslo University where he participated in a 5-months research project “Deliberative policy making within local governments. In search of an evaluation model”. Since September 2008 he is a lecturer at the National School of Public Administration (KSAP) in Warsaw.

Scientific interests: public institution’s effectiveness and efficiency, local government modernization, regionalism, the influence of communication and information technology on public administration functioning, e-governance and policy-making analysis.
