Directions of scientific – research works
The scientific interests of Chair’s staff correspond with didactic profile. In the 90-ties the subject of special interest was finance area in the process of transformation. Such direction of research has been reflected in the significant number of publications in the form of books, articles and research papers.
Chair staff has conducted in 1997 scientific research on transformation of economic system in the area of country finance, corporate finance and self-government. Moreover expertise were run on the request of economic entities.
During 1997-1999 within a grant allocated by the Committee of Scientific Research titled: “Liquidity of Polish companies in the period of economy transformation – macro and micro aspects” empirical research have been run relating to payment liquidity of stock exchange companies and results of transaction proceedings of state-owned companies (with cooperation of Treasury Ministry).
Moreover within the Chair’s research, characteristics have been developed on most important aspects of transformation of Polish finance; the gathered data are used both in research work and also didactic process.
During the last years two significant books have been published in the field of finance: “Finance” – work of Chair’s staff under scientific edition of prof. dr hab. Janusz Ostaszewski which constitutes the basis to teach finance at Warsaw School of Economics and “Finance of joint stock company” written by prof. dr hab. Janusz Ostaszewski and dr Tomasz Cicirko – which constitutes the basis to teach corporate finance.
