STATEMENT REGARDING DISEASE PREVENTION (UPDATE)

Due to the epidemic caused by coronavirus disease SARS-CoV-2, the World Health Organization has declared a state of public health threat at a global level. Pursuant to the Rector’s Order of 10 March 2020 all travels of SGH employees and students to countries listed in the announcement by the Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) are suspended until further notice. We also recommend cancelling private trips.

Furthermore, students returning from abroad are strongly advised to remain at their place of residence for the period of 14 days following their return (absences from class will be excused based on submitted travel documentation).

Conferences as well as cultural and sporting events to be held on SGH premises from 14 March 2020 onwards shall be cancelled. Organisers of events planned to take place before 14 March 2020 are likewise advised to cancel said events. Arrivals of guest from abroad shall also be suspended. 

Third persons shall be prohibited from entering SGH Student Houses. Contracting of future trips abroad of students and employees, as well as of arrivals of students and guests from abroad shall be withheld until further notice.

It is strongly advised to limit domestic trips and organisation of employee gatherings, as well as participation in enterprises of international character held in the country.

ATTENTION! Employees, students and doctoral students are obligated to notify the university immediately about hospitalisation, quarantine or sanitary observation in regard to the possibility of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. The notice should be sent to: sekretariat.kanclerza@sgh.waw.pl.

As prevention measures, please remember:

  • to wash your hands often,
  • to use hand sanitisers – dispensers are available in every SGH building,
  • to refrain from touching your eyes, mouth and nose,
  • to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing,
  • to wear a protective mask when experiencing symptoms of a cold and limit travelling while ill as much as possible,
  • to avoid contact with persons suffering from illness,
  • that you have the possibility of consulting with a doctor or nurse at the SGH Medical Point, located on the ground floor of the Main Building.

Furthermore, persons who will start experiencing symptoms which may indicate illness may receive a protective mask at the concierge desk of every SGH building. In addition, there will be an increased activity of the university's security personnel and cash payments in cafeterias on SGH premises will be temporarily excluded.
