Porto Tourism Portal - ERASMUS placement

As Porto Official Tourism Board we are designing a new Tourism Portal for Porto, the present one being http://visitporto.travel. Our goal is to create a world top site that will reorganize and improve the city’s offer in the following areas: Visiting, Living, Business R&D, What´s on and City of Porto.
Porto’s Historical Area was designated World Heritage by UNESCO in 1996, comprising about 100 classified monuments.

Porto offers a considerable diversity and amount of activities in the fields of tourism: we have 4 companies of sightseeing buses, more than 10 boat companies that provide the famous tours in the Douro River (1 hour, 1/2 day, 1 day, 2 days and one week, Jet Boats, Jet skis), Tourism Tramways, the Port Wine cellars with guided visits, nightlife, gourmet and dining programs, shopping and fashion, theatres, shows and concerts, attractions like museums, monuments, famous buildings, an aquarium, Surf schools, cultural, architectural and heritage tours, Segway tours, Helicopter tours and many private tours to major points of interest in the north of Portugal.

We are searching for ERASMUS placements candidates than can help us get images that capture the city and produce portfolios and/or multimedia presentations, in the context of the Porto Tourism Portal. They must be attending a degree or master studies (preferred) in sound and image, with skills and knowledge in the areas of production, post-production of video, audio and digital photography and editing of digital image.

With the fowling ERASMUS placement programme:

• GOAL1: Survey, analysis and identification of needs for the production, post-production of video, audio and digital photography and respective editing, in context of the Porto Tourism Portal;
• GOAL2: Production of video, audio and digital photography;
• GOAL3: Video, audio and digital photography editing for creating portfolios and/or multimedia presentations, in the context of the Porto Tourism Portal

• your CV and availability for one of the following placement periods:
  • o 15 November 2010 to 15 March 2011 (4 months)
  • o 31 March to 31 July 2011 (4 months)
• assessment of English or Castilian language skills, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) :
  • Understanding minimum required:
    • Listening: C1 Proficient user
    • Reading: A2 Basic User
  • Speaking minimum required:
    • Spoken interaction: B2 Independent user
    • Spoken production: B2 Independent user
  • Writing minimum required: C1 Proficient user
• a Word document in English ou Castilian describing your motivation to apply to this opportunity;
