DUO – SINGAPORE Exchange Fellowship Award by MFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Singapore is offering the DUO Fellowship Award which aims to promote Student Exchanges between the European and Asian ASEM member countries. The award is opened to students from European ASEM countries (who come from a University with fee waiver arrangements - that is the International Student Exchange Programme with SMU).

This merit-based award is for a pair of exchanges between SMU and your university.  Each student will be awarded a maximum of 4000 Euros for one semester of up to six months, which covers airfare, accommodation and living expenses.

It is therefore a good opportunity for your students to come to Singapore with some financial assistance. We urge you to look into the award and encourage your student's participation. It will be your final decision in giving us your nominations of the selected students at your end for the award.

In your nominations, please take note of the following:

  • Deadline for the nomination on the DUO award application is 10 February 2012. (All application documents must reach me, Nurazlin, Office of International Relations, SMU by 15 February 2012)
  • For more information on the DUO award application form, please refer to the following link: http://www.mfa.gov.sg/duo
  • If your home university has more than one applicant for the DUO award, please rank the student’s application based on priority and submit to us the two best applicants and indicate on the application the ranking of these two applicants. You need not disclose this internal selection done by your office to the rest of the applicants.

This is indeed an excellent opportunity for your students who have the intention to enroll in an exchange programme at SMU with the support of financial aid from the Singapore government.
