Over the years, the Warsaw School of Economics in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network has built an extensive “buddy system”, an arrangement where each exchange and freemover student will be assigned a Polish “buddy” to help you get through the first weeks in the new environment. “Buddies” are regular SGH students who have volunteered to help one or more of our foreign newcomers.

“Buddies” will help you with all the necessities to be completed at the beginning of your stay in Warsaw: they will pick you up from the airport, assist with checking in to the dormitories, help with all the formalities, give you information on practical matters and share loads of tips on how to survive in the new surroundings.

Upon being accepted to SGH, you will receive via mail your buddy's contact details. It is vital that all exchange and freemover students contact their buddies and provide them with the exact arrival information (time and place) in order to be picked up from the airport and accommodated in the school’s dormitory. This is also when any special needs or questions should be expressed.

Throughout the semester, your buddy will be happy to help you in all kind of matters. We advise that you allot yourself some time to get acquainted with your buddy and maintain contact with him/her during your entire stay in Warsaw.

Please contact the ESN Office directly to obtain further information or express any problems you may encounter.
