ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQURIEMENTS - PRACTICAL INFORMATION
ACCEPTED CERTIFICATES
From 2012 Selection Process for 2012/2013 Academic Year (which will begin in November 2011), all candidates must present one of the following commercial tests of proficiency in English:
- TOEFL (PBT/CBT/iBT): 600/250/100 minimum scores
- IELTS at the minimum level of 7.0
- CAE - grade B minimum or CPE (any grade)
SGH Language Competence Test in English or other than mentioned certificates WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ANY LONGER!
The requirements for the second foreign language do not change, which means that SGH competence tests and listed commercial certificates will be accepted.
EXEMPTIONS - ATTENTION: CHANGE OF REGULATIONS IN THE COMING SELECTION
From 2013 CEMS does not recognise as a waiver from English Language test both secondary (including International Baccalaureate) and university education in English!
The only exception in case of a degree obtained in English languages is granted to graduates of CEMS or EQUIS/International AACSB accredited universities!
HOW TO TAKE ACCEPTED COMMERCIAL TEST?
Unfortunatelly, none of the tests can be taken at SGH. That is why, it is the responsibility of a candidate to register, pay and pass the test in the dates allowing to get the final score confirmed to a candidate before the deadline for CEMS MIM on-line registration (end of November)!

TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language is administered by ETS - Educational Testing System. Generally, TOEFL is available in multiple formats: Paper based (PBT), Computer based (CBT) and Internet based (iBT). Practically, the iBT is replacing other forms, since it allows to register and test candidates in 7000+ locations in over 130 countries!
In Poland, you can take exclusively iBT in the following testing centres: Białystok, Gdańsk, Cracow, Łódź, Lublin, Poznań, Szczecin, Warsaw, Wrocław, Zabrze.
The test are organised about 30 time per year (3-4 exams per month). The fee is USD 185. Dealine for registration is 7 days before the exam date. Late entrants (3 days before test) may be accepted, but you have to pay USD 25 surcharge.

IELTS
International English Language Test System (IELTS) is offered in the paper based version only by the British Council around the World. The exam in Cracow and Warsaw is organised twice a month and less frequently in the following cities: Gdańsk, Lublin, Poznań and Wrocław.
You should take ACADEMIC module. Registration deadline is about 6 weeks before the test date.
The fee is: PLN 600

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) & Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE) certificates
Both tests are administred by University of Cambridge ESOL Examiniations and offered by the British Council around the World (like IELTS). CAE exam is offered in two formats: paper based (PB) and computer based (CB). The only difference between PB and CB version. The advantage of CB version is the comfort of testing and quicker access to test results.
CPE test is available in paper based version only.
Test are organised:
- CAE & CPE (PB) - 3 times a year
- CAE (CB) - twice a year
In order to get the test result before dealine for CEMS MIM on-line application, candidates shold register for IELTS exams no later than 22 March 2010! It may be possible that you may get the results of CAE (CB) with the registration deadline 6 October 2010. Please check with the testing centre whether you will get the results by the end of November 2010.
CAE (CB) is offered in the following Polish test centres: Warsaw, Cracow, Gdańsk, Lublin, Łodź, Katowice, Opole, Poznań and Wrocław.
CAE (PB) and CPE are also available in: Białystok, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Kielce, Koszalin, Olsztyn, Płock, Radom, Rzeszów and Zielona Góra.
The fees are:
- CAE (PB): PLN 520
- CAE (CB): PLN 450
- CPE (PB): PLN 550

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

- Check the availability of the final result which should be no later than the end of December of the year in which the selection begins (e.g. if selection starts in November 2012, the test results on-line must be available by 31 December 2012)
- Register for the exam and fulfill all formalities
- Take the exam
- Submit test results with your application to CEMS MIM!
