GENERAL RULES FOR ADMISSION AND SELECTION TO CEMS MIM

CEMS is the international alliance in management education developed for students who aspire to become global business leaders.

Students are selected for their outstanding profile:

• high academic standards and professional skills
• ability to perform effectively in a fast changing environment
• empathy with different cultures, values and behaviours
• willingness to take responsibility within society

Students and Selection

The CEMS MIM is exclusively open to students enrolled at one of CEMS institutions (like SGH) in a Master programme (MSc) in business administration or management economics. Students apply for the programme at post-graduate level, and the programme must be completed together with the home school’s MSc/MA requirements.

Students are selected for CEMS MIM on the basis of their potential for an international career. Selection juries involve both schools and corporate partners’ representatives. Selection criteria are: 

• Intellectual potential & knowledge (including academic excellence and prior knowledge of management, i.e. academic degree or at least 60 ECTS of completed courses in that discipline)
• Attitudes & soft skills (interpersonal skills, desire to achive, integrity, critical thinking and motivation for CEMS MIM)
• International Orientation (language skills, international openess, cross-cultural aptitudes)

A strong distinctive feature of CEMS students is their practice of foreign languages (including English) at fluent level.

Selection process design at SGH

The key selection criteria will be assessed through online application and (submitted separately) documents and through a personal meeting (interview and assessment centre).

All candidates, on top of other requirements, must present a proof of fluency in TWO foriegn languages!

In case of English it is mandatory to possess formal qualifications confirmed by one of the following commercial tests:

• TOEFL (PBT/CBT/iBT): 600/250/100 minimum scores
• IELTS at the minimum level of 7.0
• CAE - grade B minimum or CPE (any grade)
  

That is why, all candidates should check the registration and examination dates as soon as possible!

The waiver from above mentioned tests is granted exclusively to graudates of studies in English language at CEMS or EQUIS/International AACSB accredited universities. More details you can find here.

Applicants will be required to register for selection on-line both at SGH (visiting SGH selection website at: https://akson.sgh.waw.pl/crpm-rekrutacja/) and at CEMS database http://www.cems.org/selection, than to submit a motivation letter, a CV, language certificates (if these release you from passing SGH language competence test, documents confirming your practical experience, grade report and other relevant documents, you think are necessary.

A pre-selection on the basis of the documents is carried out

In addition to the application documents, a panel jury comprising of an academic and alumni representative, and an assessment centre (conducted by HR experts form companies) evaluate the fulfilment of criteria.

ATTENTION: Students who were accepted for Double Diploma Programmes at SGH are not allowed to particiate in CEMS MIM Selection and all other selections for exchanges and international programmes involving term abroad!

The same applies to those selected for CEMS MIM - They cannot apply for otehr programmes in the given academic year!
