SECOND TERM ABROAD (TRINATIONAL TRACK)
Students who show their multicultural aptitude by spending a second term abroad during the MIM programme year will be not have to pass an exam in the second foreign language.
“Abroad“ is defined by
- outside the country where the student´s Bachelor´s degree is delivered,
- outside the country where the student´s Master´s degree is going to be delivered.
SGH allows its students to enjoy that option, but rather in exceptional cases, provided that a host institution offers an extra slot for such a student, beyond our regular exchange agreement. The reson for reluctance in giving OK for such option is to ensure sufficient number of CEMS students attending CEMS courses at SGH.
For 2012/2013, in order to apply for TNT, interested students have to submit by email to: CEMS Academic Director and CEMS Programme Manager at SGH containing the following:
The schools you may indicate (in order of your preference) for your term abroad include:
- Corvinus University Budapest: Term 1 or Term 2
- GSOM, St. Petersburg: Term 1 or Term 2
- Koc University, Istanbul: Term 1 or Term 2
- NHH Bergen: term 1 or Term 2
- UCD Dublin: Term 1
- UEP, Prague: Term 1
PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU APPLY!!!
Be aware, that TNT is really a risky and costly option: you have to pass:
· ALL SGH obligatory, core major and required minor (15 ECTS from the list of courses) this academic year, or risk to take equivalent courses abroad, but you would have to get the guarantee that you will be admitted to these courses (which you cannot) and that the SGH lecturer agrees to accept them as equivalent course at our university!
· You have to combine it with writing a thesis and contact whole year remotely with your supervisor!
· You have to finance one term (or both) yourself, since LLP Erasmus can be granted for a year only if that is done at the same university, which is not the case in TNT, plus transfer between countries!
· You may most probably exceed the allowed number of ECTS credits at SGH and therefore asked to pay for extra credits. This case was brought to our Deans and Vice-Rector for Teaching with suggestion to abolish that rule towards CEMS, Double Diploma and exchange students, but so far student must pay or have to ask the Dean for individual waiver!
Taking all above mentioned, please make wise and responsible decisions, before you send your application.
